Abstract
The Greyton community in South Africa has developed a non‑violent, community‑led strategy for mitigating conflict with local chacma baboons, centered around proactive monitoring and herding to prevent habituation to human food sources. Their approach showcases an effective model of coexistence by addressing underlying drivers of conflict—namely baboons’ adaptation to anthropogenic food—through humane and behavior‑based interventions
