Animal Sentience [ASent] is the first academic journal to focus on the capacity of nonhuman animals to experience feelings—publishing empirical findings and addressing their practical, methodological, legal, ethical, sociological, theological and philosophical implications. ASent is open-access and peer-reviewed, with articles followed by open peer commentaries from specialists in relevant fields.
Articles are published online as soon as they have been peer-reviewed, accepted and edited. Commentaries and Responses are published immediately after editorial review. For citation purposes, the volume number is the year of publication and the issue number reflects the order in which papers appear in the journal. The submission process is automated through the Journal’s website.
