David Wiebers and Valery Feigin, What the COVID-19 crisis is telling humanity

Abstract

We need to situate the present crisis within the larger context of what we humans have done to the nonhuman forms of life with which we evolved, taking a longer view of our own evolutionary origins and a deeper look at what might be a more appropriate role for our species to play within the Biosphere.

Ronnie Hawkins taught environmental philosophy, bioethics, philosophy of science, and existentialism at the University of Central Florida for many years. Her concerns center around the devastating impact that our human species is having on the Biosphere and exploring ways we might stop and reverse that runaway train. Website
