Abstract
UFAW organized a symposium on alternatives to intensive husbandry systems in Kent in, the UK, in July 1981. Several speakers described free-range systems for pigs, and three addressed alternative systems for laying hens. The article also describes a meeting on poultry welfare held in Denmark.
