Abstract

After years in a Ukrainian shelter, Umka faced a severe leg injury that ultimately required amputation. With compassionate care, rehabilitation, and cooperation among animal welfare organizations in Ukraine, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, Umka overcame his physical and emotional challenges and found a loving forever home.
